My Past, Current and Future research plans

Speaker:Prof. Chao-Yu Guo (YM, Institute of Public Health Department of Public Health & Medical Humanities)

Date Time:FRI. May 22,2020, 10:40 AM - 11:30 AM

Place: 4F-427, Assembly Building I

Abstract

My career path in the early stage focuses on statistical methodologies for genetic studies and collaborative medical and public health researches. Statistical genetics focused on family-based linkage and association studies as well as missing data in genetics. After many years of transition, now my interests are machine learning and AI models. In this talk, I will briefly share some submitted manuscripts as well as ongoing topics listed in the following.
  1. A Novel Machine Learning Strategy for Model Selections - Stepwise Support Vector Machine (StepSVM).
  2. Gradient Boost of The Youden Index (GBYI) – A new Machine Learning Strategy for the Optimal Combination of Correlated Biomarkers
  3. The Multivariate Distributed Lag Non-Linear Model (MVDLNM) that Accommodates Cumulative Outcomes
  4. A Statistical Prediction Model for Acute Heart Failure Patients That is Consistent Within 5-year Follow-Ups
  5. The Optimal Cutoff Point for a Trinomial Outcome using Bootstrap Confidence Intervals
  6. The optimal cross validation strategy for neural network using DLNM-typed time series data
  7. A simulation study of machine learning imputation strategies for survival data
  8. The Performance of the Prognostic Modeling  for Incident Heart Failure Using the Sampling Strategy and Deep Generative Model (VAE)
  9. The optimal machine learning strategy for Prediction of Incident heart failure in Jackson Heart Study.
